PARC (Partnership for the Assessment of Risks from Chemicals), is a network developed under the aegis of the European framework program HORIZON EUROPE (2021 – 2027) which aims, with the participation of Member States and associated countries in collaboration with partners, to support the development and implementation of research and innovation activities related to the assessment of risks related to chemicals.
PARC network brings together 200 partners, including national agencies and research organizations in the environment or public health, the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA), the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA), the European Environment Agency (EEA), European and national risk management agencies, universities and public research organisations.
It is also a budget of 400 million euros, financed 50% by the European Union and 50% by the Member States.
In France, proposed by ANSES and favorably evaluated by the European Commission in January 2022, the network includes scientific organizations including SP FR, INSERM, INRAE, INERIS, ONIRIS, and CNRS.
The network is coordinated at the French level by Santé Publique France.
In June 2022, a call for expressions of interest was launched to open the PARC network to external stakeholders.
Accepted as such, the Pro Anima Scientific Committee is committed to participating in this network bringing together the major players in the sector in order to contribute to an ever better assessment of chemical risks.
Following its official start on May 1, 2022, the next meeting of this French hub, the first in which Pro Anima will participate, is scheduled for Wednesday September 21.
